    05/10/2010--The 2010 MSUSBC Women's Championship Tournament has now ended, and the following teams are Unofficial Champions in All-Events.  Divisions are defined by team averages, as follows:  Division 1, 359 and up; Division 2, 319-358; Division 3, 287-318; Division 4, 259-286; and Division 5, 258 and below.

    Tina Peak-Balser and Bryanna Caldwell are the Division 1 Doubles Champions, and they did so decisively, with a 99 pin margin of victory over Angie Goettel and Tracy Sherman of the St. Louis USBC.  They'll receive $275.00 for their First Place effort.  Tina narrowly missed an 800 series, firing 790 on the strength of 264, 247, and 279.  Caldwell added her own 279 in the effort, sandwiched between games of 222 and 247 for 748.  The team had 1,538. 

    In Division 2, from the Greater Kansas City MO USBC, Michelle Bolden and Cathy Sims earned the crown as they shot 1,242, and won their division by 39 pins over fellow Kansas City bowlers Nicki Edgington and Mary Peters, and Latonya Mapp and Sondra Irby from the St. Louis USBC.  Bolden missed her 181 triplicate when she had 188 her final game, but Sims picked up the pace with games of 204, 236, and 252 for a 692 series.  Bolden and Sims take home $400.00, while both Second Place teams get $226.00.

    Division 3 and the First Place Prize of $700.00 this year belongs to Kathy Martin and Valeria McGinnis from the Greater Kansas City MO USBC, whose 1,170 bested Melissa Garnica and Paula Wood, also from Kansas City, by 66 pins.  Kathy shot 181, 180, and 198 for a 559, and Valerie anchored with 174, 201, and 236, one pin shy of 100 pins over her average.

    Poplar Bluff USBC's Kathy Felts and Jancy Crafton took home Division 4 with a 1,027 showing.  Kathy shot 541 with games of 215, 202, and 124.  She averages 130.  Jancy contributed 486 on games of 162, 159, and 165, a solid effort.  Felts and Crafton defeated Gina Owens and Kristyn Cluck from the St. Joseph USBC by one single pin, and win $600.00.

    Finally, in Division 5, Marian Kuntz and Tammie Turner shot a 984 to win the division by 26 pins over Deborah Powell and Jessica Bradley from Poplar Bluff USBC.  Marian and Tammie hail from Northeast Missouri USBC. Marian shot 127, 157, and 164 with a 118 average.  Tammie had 154, 148, and 234 for 536.  Division 5 First Place is worth $400.00.
