    05/11/2010-- Six Champions have been declared in the 2010 MSUSBC Pepsi Youth Championships, and four bowlers will represent Missouri in the 2010 USBC Junior Gold Championships in Indianapolis as a result.

    In the Boys 11yo and Under Division, Trenny Herring from Lamonte, MO shot 530 scratch, added to 249 pins of handicap, and won the division by a single pin over Chase Schneiders, and three pins over Mason Boehlein.  Herring will receive $750 in scholarship funds, while Schnieders gets $300, and Boehlein $200.

    ReAnna Sperle of Leawood, KS was a bit more decisive in her victory in the Girls 11yo and Under Division.  Combining her 553 actual pins with 261 handicap pins, her 814 total took the division by 41.  She also receives $750 in scholarship funds, while Emily Dorris deposits $250 and Koleen Edwards adds $125.

    Salem's Joshua Plank and St. Peters' Allison Chaplin took great strides in paying for their further education in this year's tournament.  Plank, competing in the  Boys' 12yo and Over Handicap division, shot 1,209 scratch, and had 432 pins of handicap.  He won the division by four pins over Chad Leake, and gets $2,250 in Scholarship funds.

    Chaplin took the Girls' 12yo and Over Handicap division, also receiving $2,250 towards her education.  She shot 956 for her six games, added to 570 pins of handicap.  Her 1,526 bested Brittany Kinney by 6 pins.

    Kenneth Haegele from St. Louis and Jonathan Heimann of St. Peters will represent Missouri State USBC at the 2010 USBC Junior Gold Championships in Indianapolis in July.  Haegele is the Champion of the Boys' 12yo and Over Scratch division, shooting 1,533 for his six games, a 255.50 average.  He'll receive $1,250 in scholarship funds.  Heimann wasn't far behind with 1,488, a 248.0 average, and he'll get $250 for his educational needs.

    On the Girls' side, St. Louis' Holly Hutton and St. Charles' Katy Bogar are our state representatives to Indianapolis.  Hutton averaged 205.00, and will receive a $1,250 scholarship for her efforts.  Bogar shot 1,212, a 202.00 average, and she'll get $200.

    The 2010 USBC Junior Gold Championships will be held at Woodland Bowl, Western Bowl, and Expo Bowl from July 10-16, and from this competition our 2011 Junior Team USA will be formed.
