4/21/10--Thirteen high honor scores have come during the 2010 MSUSBC Open Championships thus far, with only one weekend of competition remaining. Bowl East, home of the Team Event, has given up six 300's and a 299, along with one 800 series. David Krol of the Greater Springfield MO USBC started us off with his 300, shot on the 11:00 AM Squad in Game 2 of the second weekend. He put games of 218 and 208 on either side, and ended with a 726 series as part of the Bald Knobbers Show Team. During the same game, Samuel Zebelean Jr. shot 300 as a member of the BO's Bombers team from St. Joseph MO USBC. Samuel added 211 in Game 1 and 235 in Game 3 for a 756 set. The next squad, Michael Diederich from the Greater Kansas City MO USBC finished his team set with 12 straight strikes. His first two games were 230 and 234, and his 764 led the Kansas City #1 Team to 3,474, a very respectable finish. On Sunday morning of Weekend 2 at 9:00 AM, Daryl Klotz also finished his series perfect. Daryl had 214 and 234 to start the day, and finished with 738 for his "Players To Be Named Later" team from the Columbia USBC. In Weekend 4, the Saturday 3:00 PM Team Squad produced quite a bit of excitement. Matthew Cline of the Greater Joplin USBC finished his 746 series with perfection, bowling on the BMF's team. Rolla's David Rosenburg shot a 300 for the second straight year, preceding it with a pair of 279's for a whopping 858 series. David was bowling for the Rosenburg's Pro Shop Team, who psted a 3,420 score. On Sunday at 1:00 PM, Tim Behrendt from the St. Louis USBC posted a 299 in the first game of his Team event for the St. Louis Masters team, who would go on to tie for the Scratch Team Event lead with 3,561. Scores have started to emerge from 4th Street Bowl as well. They were slow to come at the beginning of the tournament, but Greater Springfield MO USBC's Tony Yarbrough also put up consecutive year 300's. He did so in his Singles Event. Tony shot games of 234-300-227 for 761. In the third weekend, Billy Hardy from Mexico USBC started his Doubles event perfect, and added 215 and 185 for a 700 series. This past weekend, Thomas Follmer shot 299-813 in his Doubles, and posted a 300 in his last game of Singles. Follmer is from the St. Louis USBC. Congratulations to all of these bowlers for their honor scores on the big stage.
